ABOUT
Hi there, I am Sharon, a curious Scientist and Art Explorer.
I create unique jewelries to celebrates Science, Nature, and the diverse people in STEM.
I got my inspiration from Science and Nature for they are timeless and full of wonder and beauty! My designs are also inspired by those diverse and innovative people, especially women, in STEM, by their ingenuity, by their passion and accomplishment.
I believe jewelry not only enhances our look but also expresses who we are and how we want to be connected to the world. I would like to encourage everyone to live a life led by curiosity and wonder, whether you are in STEM field or not.
12 Dalton uses jewelry, a piece of wearable art, to communicate STEM. I hope increased visibility of STEM will spark conversations, curiosity, and changes cultural perceptions of STEM. I hope that what you share will stir the imagination and those inherent yet may be long-forgotten curiosities of more people.
Though each piece of 12 Dalton jewelry has an interesting story behind it. The most interesting story is your own.
I am grateful for being able to design this piece for you to express yourself, for you to feel unique, beautiful, and empowered. What I cherish the most is being able to create memorabilia for those important moments in your lives.
A little more about me: I graduated with a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from Georgia Tech. I have been working as a research scientist in a chemical company since 2008. Growing up in a Scientists family, my curiosity for science, art, and entrepreneurship has never stopped. I founded 12 Dalton because I want to spread the joys and wonders of science. Besides doing research and deigning jewelries, I also enjoy spending time with my 6- and 8-years old kids, dancing, and reading books on Learning, Happiness, and Flow.
